A few things
worth knowing.
Does it run on Windows or Linux?
Windows is coming soon. For now you write and send from a Mac. The sending service can run on any server, or on Rowsend Cloud.
Who is it for?
Developers and small teams whose users live in their own database, who would rather pay for sending than for contacts.
Which databases can it read?
Supabase, Neon, PlanetScale and any other Postgres. MySQL 8 or later and MariaDB. MongoDB, on Atlas or your own server. Firebase Auth, with fields from Firestore if you want them. Rowsend only ever reads, through a login that can't write, and your database stays the source of truth.
Where do my contacts and keys live?
On your computer. Rowsend reads your users through a read-only database login and encrypts provider keys with your Keychain. Cloud only holds keys in memory while a send runs, unless you turn on sending while your computer is off.
Does Rowsend track opens and clicks?
No. Tracking means a hidden pixel and rewritten links in every email, and opens stopped being reliable once Apple Mail began loading images for everyone. Rowsend reports what your provider knows for sure: deliveries, bounces, unsubscribes and complaints.
I have fewer than 1,000 contacts. Should I switch?
Probably not yet. Loops and Resend are free at that size. Rowsend pays for itself once your list outgrows their free tiers.
Do I need Rowsend Cloud?
No. Rowsend can send from your computer or from your own server. Cloud gives you a public address for unsubscribe links, bounces and images, so you don't have to run one.
What happens if I stop paying for Cloud?
Your license keeps working. Sending moves back to your computer or your own server.
