MariaDB

MariaDB works like MySQL, with one difference: it can’t read MySQL 8’s password hashes. Choosing MariaDB makes the setup SQL use mysql_native_password instead.

  1. Use a login that can create users, such as root, with the database name at the end:

    mysql://root:your-password@db.example.com:3306/app
  2. In Rowsend, open Contacts, click Connect a database, choose MariaDB, paste it and click Continue.

  3. Choose what Rowsend reads. The select must return id, email and updated_at.

  4. Click Copy SQL and run it as the same login. It creates a rowsend_contacts view in your database and a rowsend_reader user that can only read it.

  5. Click Test and connect.
